I've just deleted the old https://www.daveschultz.com/forum from XMB and created a new one using phpbb as the spam control and tools with xmb were very weak.
While I'm happy with the spam control on this forum with SMF, phpbb appears to have a pretty good following and support. Watch this discussion and I'll report back after I've plated with for awhile.
https://www.daveschultz.com/forum/index.php (https://www.daveschultz.com/forum/index.php) was pretty easy to set up and has more flexibility than the others on pretty look & feels.
